Precision Locating provides our customers with unbiased diagnostic
information as to the condition of sewer and drain lines. Our technicians perform hundreds of video inspections a year,
giving Precision Locating unparalleled experience in the diagnosis of sewer and drain conditions. By sending our color video
camera into the line, Precision Locating can detect root intrusion, broken lines, foreign objects, low spots (a.k.a. sag or
belly), and visible defects. The camera is introduced into a line (1¼-inch and larger) by accessing a wall or
ground level cleanout or from the roof through the sewer vent. We provide diagnostic information only. The true condition
of cast iron lines cannot be determined from viewing the inside only. We provide further information as to the condition of
cast iron lines by sending a non-metallic transmitter into the line with the camera. This type of transmitter cannot radiate
a signal through cast iron pipe that is in good condition. However, the signal will radiate from breaks, cracks and through
very thin pipe, allowing for the accurate location of problem areas.
Precision Locating sewer video inspections include a DVD of the inspection and the
aboveground electronic location of the line, including the depth and location of any problem areas. Video inspection is not limited to sewers
and drains; we perform inspections on A/C vents, underground returns, electrical conduits, piping systems, flood irrigation
lines, fireplace chimneys, vents and flues.
Precision Locating can accurately locate sewer and drain lines by using a small radio transmitter on a pushrod inserted into lines as
small as 1½ inches. With the use of our mini hydro-jetter, we can locate through a 2-inch and larger P trap. The transmitter
is then located by using a hand-held receiver, allowing the line and any problem areas to be located.
Precision Locating is not in the
business of plumbing repairs or drain cleaning, and therefore provides you, the customer, with a professional unbiased diagnosis as to the true condition of your sewer and drain system.
HOMEOWNERS AND CONTRACTORS: Are you planning to purchase or remodel an older
home or building that has cast iron drain lines? As these structures age, the condition of cast iron lines deteriorates. Far too often
thousands of dollars are spent on remodeling, without consideration as to the condition of the sewer and drain system
that lies below newly installed and very expensive flooring and/or cabinetry. Let Precision Locating perform
a video and transmitter inspection to determine the condition of lines before the remodel begins. It could save you time,
money, and a lot of aggravation.
